When it comes to emergency situations, it’s not a matter of if but when the next will occur.

The people of Afghanistan have endured decades of conflict and violence, and the situation is   forcing thousands to flee for safety. “Since May, nearly 250,000 people have been forced from their homes; 80% of them are women and children,” said Shabia Mantoo, a spokesperson for the U.N. refugee agency. 

This instability is in addition to other humanitarian crises affecting the country, such as famine, natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic. Our charity partners have longstanding commitments to the people of Afghanistan and are already mobilizing their response teams.
